The Winery

Bodegas Valcarlos is located in Los Arcos, Navarra, in the middle of the Camino de Santiago. Inaugurated in 2001, this winery houses in its interior green colors like the vineyard, golden like the white grapes in the sun and blue like the night when the grapes rest. The ceilings are shaped like the beautiful mysterious Lotus flower, which symbolizes elegance, beauty, perfection, purity and grace.

    Marqués de Valcarlos Gran Reserva

    Clean, bright. Medium-high robe. Garnet colour with slight tile tinges on the rims. On the nose, very complex. Sweet sensation of ripe fruit and barrel notes. Spices: vanilla, clove, cinnamon, pepper. Pastry aromas.

    Fine, balanced. Hints of oak (toast, vanilla) predominate over the fruit. Spicy nuances.Good acidity. Very long final. Reminiscent of nuts (hazelnuts).

    It matches with any kind of meat and mushrooms rice. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna or cod. Medium-aged cheese such as emmental or gruyere.

  • Marqués de Valcarlos Reserva

    Clean, bright. Medium-high intensity. Garnet red colour with russet tones at the rims. On the nose, intense, complex. first sensation of ripe, stewed fruit. The following aromas that appear are spicy, cedar, cigar box, blond tobacco, dry grass. Balsamic.

    Pleasant on the palate. Warm, wellintegrated tannin. Rounded. Wellintegrated acidity. Long finish. The sweet sensation persists, with hints of roasted hazelnut.

    Any kind of meat. It matches with grilled or fried potatoes, mushrooms or ham. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna, cod. Medium-aged cheese and berry dessert. Rice and all kind of pasta.

    Marqués de Valcarlos Red Crianza

    Clean, bright, cherry red color developing to ruby. Nose: intense, ripe fruits notes, elegant vanilla and toasted touch, spices backgroung. Tasting: well-structured, elegant tannin and very balanced. Finish: médium finish, barrel notes and fruits.

    It matches with any kind of meat and mushrooms. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna or cod. Medium-aged cheese such as emmental or gruyere.

    Clean, bright, cherry red developing to maroon. Nose: On the palate is intense, marked by sweet notes due to the barrel ageing well integrated with ripe fruits hints. Tasting: Light on the palate, good tannin, pleasant acidity and homogeneous. Finish: Pleasant finish with marked barrel notes.

    Any kind of meat. It matches with grilled or fried potatoes, mushrooms or ham. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna, cod. Medium-aged cheese and berry dessert. Rice and all kind of pasta.

    Marqués de Valcarlos Rosé

    Clean, bright strawberry colour. Nose: Intense, gourmand, marked by fruit notes, like strawberries. Tasting: Good acidity, that gives freshness. Pleasant on the palate. Finish: Long finish, very sweet.

    It matches with cold meat, sausages, pork or chicken. Grilled meat and mushrooms. Quiche Lorraine. Rice and pasta.

    Between 14 and 18 hours cold maceration. Fermentation between 15 and 16ºC

    Clean, bright, pale yelow. Nose: Good intensity, white fruits and slightly floral notes. Tasting: Pleasant, fresh and balanced. Finish: Medium finish,very fruity.

    Frankfurt sausages. It matches with potatoes, fish and seafood. Goat and roquefort cheese. Basil pasta, fried tomatoes or vegetables.

    Marqués de Valcarlos Chardonnay barrel fermented

    Clean, bright. Nice yellow colour with golden glints. On the nose, intense, warm. A sensation of toasted barrel notes. Ripe white fruit (pear). Hints of hazelnut.

    Homogeneous, voluminous, unctuous, involving. Balanced acidity. Pleasant.

    Long final. The sweet notes of the fruit remain with a hint of the toast of the barrel.

    It matches with potatoes, fish and seafood. Goat and roquefort cheese. Basil pasta, fried tomatoes or vegetables.

    48 hours cold maceration. Barrel Fermented and aging for 4 months on lees.

  • Marqués de Valcarlos Chardonnay

    Clean, bright, elegant, golden yellow color. White (pear and apple) and tropical (pineapple) fruity notes. Unctuous, velvety and full-bodied. Very nice and balanced.

    Frankfurt sausages. It matches with potatoes, fish and seafood. Goat and roquefort cheese. Basil pasta, fried tomatoes or vegetables.
